Dodd says still working on housing bill agreement
WASHINGTON, May 15 (Reuters) - The chairman of the Senate Banking Committee said on Thursday that negotiations were still under way among lawmakers toward a bipartisan agreement on major housing market legislation.
After repeated postponements during the day of a committee meeting to vote on the bill, Sen. Christopher Dodd told reporters, "We're not there yet obviously ... We're working."
The Connecticut Democrat had been scheduled to preside over a committee work session early Thursday morning. But the meeting was postponed until late morning, and again until afternoon.
Asked whether the meeting might be postponed until next week, he said, "Not necessarily, we'll see what happens." (Reporting by Kevin Drawbaugh; Editing by Gary Hill)
