India's inflation way above central bank's comfort level - RBI chief

MUMBAI, July 16 (Reuters) - India's headline as well as consumer price inflation is way above the Reserve Bank of India's comfort level, the central bank Governor Duvvuri Subbarao said on Monday.

India's wholesale price index, the main inflation gauge, rose a lower-than-expected annual 7.25 percent in June, its slowest rise since January, helped by moderation in fuel prices. (Reporting by Suvashree Dey Choudhury; Editing by Anand Basu)
