Indian shares open 0.6 percent lower
BANGALORE, May 12 (Reuters) - India's main stock index started 0.57 percent lower on Monday, weighed down by uncertainty over the health of the U.S. economy and surging oil and commodity prices.
At 9:57 a.m. (0427 GMT), the 30-share BSE index was down 0.26 percent, or 42.90 points, at 16,694.17, with 25 components falling.
The 50-share NSE index was down 0.24 percent at 4,970.70. (Reporting by Sumeet Chatterjee; Editing by John Mair)
