LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Batmania hit the video sales charts ahead of Friday's release of "The Dark Knight."

Two titles with plots linked to the sequel -- the animated direct-to-video title "Batman: Gotham Knight" and the most recent theatrical installment in the franchise, "Batman Begins" -- took the top two spots on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart for the week ended July 13.

The two Batman titles also topped the Blu-ray Disc chart for the week, but in reverse order.

"Vantage Point," last week's top seller and renter, repeated as the week's No. 1 rental, according to Home Media Magazine. It fell to No. 3 on the sales chart. "Drillbit Taylor" was No. 2 on the rental chart for a second week.

Newcomers "The Ruins" and "Stop-Loss" took the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively, on the rental chart. The box office weaklings finished at No. 4 and No. 9, respectively, on the sales chart.
