Indian rupee falls as Asian stocks tumble
MUMBAI, Sept 18 (Reuters) - The rupee eased on Thursday as the fall in Asian stocks raised concerns of more capital outflows but suspected intervention by the central bank curbed further drop.
* Asian stocks fell 3-4 percent, with emergency actions by central banks and governments around the world failing to ease a financial crisis that has sent investors fleeing to gold and government bonds. [ID:nSP193956]
* At 9:08 a.m., the partially convertible rupee INR=IN was at 46.64/68 per dollar, lower than Wednesday's close of 46.33/35. It opened at 46.75 per dollar on Thursday. (Reporting by V. Ramakrishnan; Editing by Harish Nambiar)
