WASHINGTON, Nov 7 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said on Saturday he was "absolutely confident" the U.S. Senate would follow the lead of the House of Representatives in passing legislation to overhaul the U.S. healthcare system.

"Thanks to the hard work of the House, we are just two steps away from achieving health insurance reform in America," Obama said in a written statement. "Now the United States Senate must follow suit and pass its version of the legislation. I am absolutely confident it will." (Editing by Todd Eastham)
