Brazil's real weakens 1 pct against the dollar
SAO PAULO, May 7 (Reuters) - Brazil's currency weakened around 1 percent in afternoon trading on declines in stock markets abroad and as players in Brazil awaited possible new government measures to temper the real's strength.
The real BRBY traded 1.02 percent weaker at 1.678 against the greenback. The real has rallied more than 6 percent this year to its highest level since 1999. (Reporting by Fabio Gehrke, writing by Andrei Khalip, Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
