TREASURIES-Short dated notes boosted by 3-yr auction
NEW YORK, June 9 (Reuters) - Short-dated U.S. Treasury debt prices edged higher on Tuesday, extending the day's gains after a government auction of three-year notes was met with solid demand.
The three-year Treasury note US3YT=RR was last up 6/32 for a yield of 1.90 percent, versus 1.97 percent late on Monday. Before the auction it was up 4/32.
The benchmark 10-year Treasury note US10YT=RR initially extended its gains but was last down 6/32 in price on the day, yielding 3.90 percent versus 3.86 percent before the sale and versus 3.87 percent at Monday's close.
