RPT-Fed bought $7 bln of Treasuries on Wednesday

NEW YORK, June 17 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve bought $7 billion of Treasuries maturing May 2016 through February 2019 on Wednesday, the New York Fed said.

Dealers submitted $26.203 billion of bids for consideration in the purchase, which is part of the U.S. central bank's efforts to lower long-term borrowing costs.

The Fed did most of the buying on Wednesday in the issue maturing May 31, 2016. (Reporting by Chris Reese; Editing by James Dalgleish)
