Bank of Canada aims to hit 2 pct inflation target
OTTAWA, May 1 (Reuters) - Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney said on Thursday the central bank intends to hit its 2 percent inflation target despite food inflation.
Carney, speaking to the Senate banking committee, said Canada's food price inflation is almost unique in the world at a low 2.5 percent. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
