Irish finmin agrees with IMF on budgetary focus
DUBLIN, June 24 (Reuters) - Ireland's finance minister said he agreed with the International Monetary Fund's analysis that future budgetary focus should be on expenditure, as he welcomed the IMF's annual review of the Irish economy on Wednesday.
"In terms of the future necessary fiscal adjustments I agree with the IMF's analysis that the focus must be more on expenditure than taxation," Brian Lenihan said in a statement.
"I welcome the IMF report published today. This report is both a balanced and realistic assessment of the challenges we face, and also endorses the actions that we are taking." (Editing by Leslie Adler)
