Bank of Ireland awaiting for EU on state aid
DUBLIN, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Bank of Ireland (BKIR.I: Quote, Profile, Research) has not received any clear signals from the European Union on the restructuring plan it has submitted in relation to state aid, it said on Wednesday.
"The bank has made decisions which already involve a considerable restructuring and reduction of the balance sheet," Chief Executive Richie Boucher added in a presentation for analysts on the banks' first-half results.
Earlier on Wednesday, Bank of Ireland said it was planning a rundown of 32 billion euros of UK assets and 5 billion of other assets, in addition to up to 16 billion euros of loans to be transferred to Ireland's "bad bank".
