RBS Sempra hires new emissions trading head
BARCELONA, May 27 (Reuters) - RBS Sempra Commodities has hired Andrew Gygax as its new head of emissions trading and origination.
"My job is to oversee RBS Sempra's emissions trading and (clean energy) project origination ... to combine the two desks to form a coherent approach," Gygax told Reuters.
Gygax, formerly director of emissions trading at Constellation Energy Group (CEG.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and a senior carbon trader at the UK arm of Germany's E.ON (EONGn.DE: Quote, Profile, Research) prior to that, confirmed that he started at RBS Sempra this week.
RBS Sempra is a joint trading venture between Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS.L: Quote, Profile, Research) and Sempra Energy (SRE.N: Quote, Profile, Research).
Constellation Energy sold the majority of its London-based commodities business to Goldman Sachs (GS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) in January. (Reported by Michael Szabo; Editing by James Jukwey)
