Bernanke to testify to Congress June 25 on Merrill
WASHINGTON, June 18 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is scheduled to testify to a House committee on June 25 about Bank of America's (BAC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) acquisition of Merrill Lynch last year, a committee aide said on Thursday.
The hearing before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is set to begin at 10 a.m. EDT (1400 GMT).
On Wednesday, the committee sent a letter to Bernanke asking him to testify on when the Fed became aware of the deteriorating condition of Merrill and the role the U.S. government played in completing the Merrill deal with Bank of America.
