Mexico stocks fall sharply on U.S. economy worries

MEXICO CITY, July 2 (Reuters) - Mexican stocks fell sharply on Wednesday as investors worried that higher crude prices would slow growth in the United States, Mexico's chief trading partner.

The benchmark IPC stock index .MXX dropped 1.09 percent to 28,904 points. (Reporting by Michael O'Boyle, Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
