Mexico stocks extend losses on global economy woes

MEXICO CITY, June 22 (Reuters) - Mexican stocks extended sharp losses on Monday as worries about the global economy hammered stock markets, commodity prices and emerging market assets around the world.

The IPC stock index .MXX lost as much as 2 percent to 23,786, hit by losses at wireless operator America Movil (AMXL.MX: Quote, Profile, Research) and Mexican miners Grupo Mexico (GMEXICOB.MX: Quote, Profile, Research) and Penoles (PENOLES.MX: Quote, Profile, Research).
