- Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has set a seven-day target to get the rival factions in Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) to agree on a formula to resolve the party crisis.

- Billionaire T. Ananda Krishnan, together with Khazanah Nasional Bhd, are reported by The Australian newspaper to have invested in an Australian Internet TV company called Fetch TV.

- Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat on Monday directed his son-in-law, Abdul Ariffahmi Abdul Rahman, to quit as chief executive officer of Kelantan Menteri Besar Incorporated.

- National carmaker Proton Holdings Bhd (PROT.KL: Quote, Profile, Research) almost doubled its second quarter net profit, helped by better-than- expected car sales and ongoing operational efficiency measures, its managing director Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohd Tahir said.
