FACTBOX-Potential Nigerian central bank governors
May 8 (Reuters) - Nigerian Central Bank Governor Chukwuma Soludo's five-year tenure ends on May 29. He is eligible for a second term but there are other potential candidates.
Here are details on some of the possible contenders.
CHUKWUMA SOLUDO
The incumbent was one of the main architects of banking sector consolidation in 2004/05 which saw the number of Nigerian financial institutions slashed to 25 from 89, deepening the country's capital markets and attracting foreign investors.
Monetary policy immediately after he took over as Central Bank Governor in 2004 was reform-orientated but progress has slowed since the current administration of President Umaru Yar'Adua took over two years ago.
Soludo is from southeastern Anambra state.
