THORNBURG MORTGAGE INC (TMA.N: Quote, Profile, Research)
The stock tumbled more than 50 percent to $4.01 on the New York Stock Exchange after the residential mortgage lender said it failed to meet a "substantial majority" of the most recent margin calls. For details, see [ID:nN03336997]
Thornburg topped the Big Board's list of biggest percentage losers at midday on Monday.
BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N: Quote, Profile, Research)
COUNTRYWIDE FINANCIAL CORP CFC.N
Shares of Bank of America, the largest U.S. bank by market value, dropped 0.7 percent to $39.47 on the NYSE, after Countrywide, the largest U.S. mortgage lender, said it may see more credit losses. [ID:nN03324367] Bank of America, recently added to the Dow industrials, earlier hit a session low at $38.57.
