Shell: Martinez refinery gas compressor snag resolved
NEW YORK, March 6 (Reuters) - Shell Oil Co resolved a brief problem with a gas compressor at its 156,000 barrel per day San Francisco Bay refinery in Martinez, California, a spokesman for the refinery said on Thursday.
"We had a gas compressor that tripped last night and caused some brief flaring, but it's been corrected and operations are normal," spokesman Steve Lesher told Reuters.
Earlier on Thursday, Shell had said it "lost a gas compressor" resulting in release of sulfur dioxide, according to a filing with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services. (Reporting by Haitham Haddadin)
