MEXICO CITY, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Mexico's Coatzacoalcos oil terminal on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico reopened on Saturday morning after being shut for much of the past week due to bad weather, the government said.

Weather-related port closures are not uncommon at this time of year in Mexico, although prolonged outages can have an impact on crude production as state oil monopoly Pemex [PEMX.UL] has little storage capacity and can be forced to shut in wells if export shipments are held up for too long.

Mexico exports the bulk of its crude oil from three terminals on the Gulf coast. Cayo Arcas, the biggest, remained open this week, while Coatzacoalcos and Dos Bocas, which handle approximately 25 percent of exports, were closed for much of the last seven days. (Reporting by Robert Campbell)
