LOOP says halts tanker offloadings on Gulf Coast
HOUSTON, Nov 8 (Reuters) - The Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP), which takes in an average 1 million barrels of foreign crude from cargo ships daily, stopped offloading tankers early on Sunday afternoon, a spokeswoman said.
Supplies of crude oil to U.S. Gulf Coast refineries continue from onshore storage, said LOOP spokeswoman Barb Hestermann. The LOOP is also receiving via pipeline 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) in oil from production platforms offshore.
The LOOP is the only U.S. port that can receive the largest crude oil tankers. (Reporting by Erwin Seba, editing by Maureen Bavdek)
