US Products Outlook-Midwest gasoline tight on outages
NEW YORK, March 10 (Reuters) - Midwestern gasoline values are expected to hold high levels as planned turnarounds combined with unplanned snags are seen holding prices high, supporting stronger Gulf values, traders said on Monday.
Chicago cycle 2 unleaded gasoline, which was bid at 15 cents under the screen, traded at 8 cents under on dwindling supply, traders said.
"At least two refiners are buying," said a trade source.
Marathon said it began a turnaround at its 100,000 barrel per day refinery in Detroit. [ID:nN10456455]
Trade sources also expect work on the hydrocracker and reformer at Marathon's 192,000 bpd Robinson, Illinois refinery to begin by the end of the week.
ConocoPhillips started planned work at its 306,000 joint venture Wood River, Illinois refinery, which includes a gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracking unit. [ID:nN18309297]
Traders also said that Citgo was buying after a problem with a crude unit at its Lemont, Illinois refinery.
Frontier has also began 38 days of planned work on the expansion of the 120,000 bpd crude unit at its at its El Dorado, Kansas refinery. [ID:nN26325932]
