Chevron: L.A. refinery ops unaffected by problem
HOUSTON, March 10 (Reuters) - Operations at Chevron Corp's (CVX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) 260,000 barrel per day Los Angeles-area refinery in El Segundo, California, were unaffected by the weekend loss of a compressor, a spokesman said Monday.
"Nothing operationally was affected," said Chevron's Rod Spackman.
"Heavy flaring" through the coker unit flare due to "losing compressor K501" was reported at the refinery, according to the notice Chevron filed with the California Office of Emergency Services on Saturday. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by John Picinich)
