Sempra/Occidental California Elk Hills plant on-line
LOS ANGELES, May 13 (Reuters) - The 552-megawatt Sempra Energy (SRE.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and Occidental Petroleum (OXY.N: Quote, Profile, Research) natural gas-fired power plant returned to service on Tuesday after being off-line since April 24, a California power grid operator daily report showed on Tuesday.
The 552-megawatt Elk Hills plant is in Kern County.
A megawatt in California on average can supply between 650 and 700 average homes with electricity. (Reporting by Bernard Woodall; Editing by Gary Hill)
