NEW YORK, April 13 (Reuters) - Cash gasoline in the U.S. Gulf Coast and other hubs east of the Rockies rose on Monday on refinery issues and a weaker NYMEX benchmark as activity picked up following Easter holiday, traders said.

ConocoPhillips reported a fire in the coking unit at its 247,000 barrel-per-day refinery in Sweeny, Texas late Thursday, according to a filing with state environmental regulators. [ID:nN13368492]

Meanwhile, the fire-damaged crude distillation unit at Conoco's 232,000-bpd Bayway refinery in Linden, New Jersey, is expected to restart sometime this week, source said. [ID:nN13369057].

U.S. crude oil futures fell $2 at $50.24 per barrel on Monday after the International Energy Agency lowered its 2009 global demand forecast on Friday and as Wall Street slumped. RBOB and heating oil futures posted smaller declines.
