FACTBOX-Dolly's impact to Gulf of Mexico oil sector
July 22 (Reuters) - Tropical Storm Dolly, the first serious threat to oil production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico this year [ID:nN22287387], was expected to become a hurricane before coming ashore near the Texas border with Mexico on Wednesday [ID:nN22278717].
Following are energy industry developments so far in response to the threat from Dolly. ******************OFFSHORE PRODUCTION IMPACT******************
-Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N: Quote, Profile, Research) shut 10,000 barrels per day of liquids and 40 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.
-Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) shut 30,000 barrels per day of oil equivalent production.
-U.S. Minerals Management Service said on Monday that no production had yet been shut. ********************OFFSHORE EVACUATIONS**********************
- Anadarko has evacuated 180 workers from Nansen, Boomvang and Gunnison platforms in the western Gulf of Mexico.
- Apache Corp (APA.N: Quote, Profile, Research), BP Plc (BP.L: Quote, Profile, Research), Exxon Mobil, Chevron and Shell said they were removing workers from platforms as production continued unaffected.
-U.S. Minerals Management Service said on Monday that workers had been evacuated from 4 production platforms and 1 drilling rig. *********************REFINERIES*******************************
- Valero Energy Corp (VLO.N: Quote, Profile, Research), Citgo Petroleum Corp and Flint Hills Resources LP refineries in Corpus Christi, Texas, monitoring but still operating. **************************************************************
