Mississippi River may be closed for days-Coast Guard
HOUSTON, July 23 (Reuters) - A spill of fuel oil may keep the Mississippi River closed at New Orleans for days, a U.S. Coast Guard spokesman said Wednesday.
Officials hope the shutdown will be short, but it may take a while to clean up a spill of No. 6 fuel oil from a barge cut in half in a collision with a tanker, the spokesman said. (Reporting by Bruce Nichols; Editing by Marguerita Choy)
