NEW YORK, Oct 26 (Reuters) - New York Harbor cash gasoline jumped on Monday at news the Caribbean's giant Hovensa refinery shut its fluid catalytic cracker unit, traders said.

The 550,000 barrel per day (bpd) Hovensa refinery in St. Croix took the 150,000 bpd FCC down for unplanned maintenance that will likely conclude around Nov. 6, according to a company spokesman. [ID:nN2695580]

The outage pushed up Harbor gasoline by more than 1 cent over Friday levels, traders said, with further support coming from a spate of other refinery problems. U.S. Gulf Coast gasoline also firmed.

Valero (VLO.N: Quote, Profile, Research) shut the FCC at its Texas City refinery to repair a valve, but had no immediate timeline for restarting the gasoline-making unit. [ID:nN26251433]

ConocoPhillips (COP.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said it was preparing to shut an FCC at its 247,000-bpd Sweeny, Texas, refinery Monday. [ID:nN26197745]

Exxon Mobil XOM.N brought operations at its 60,000 bpd Billings, Montana plant back to normal following a Friday power upset. [ID:nN26184318]

Heating oil differentials found little support from a National Weather service report that forecast total U.S. heating demand would dip to 23 percent below normal levels this week as the possible warmer weather in the Northeast and Midwest. [ID:nN26187280]

U.S. crude futures fell as the dollar rebounded from earlier lows and Wall Street weakened. [O/N]
