StatoilHydro says made 2 finds in Oseberg area
OSLO, May 13 (Reuters) - Norwegian energy group StatoilHydro (STL.OL: Quote, Profile, Research) has made two oil and gas discoveries in the Oseberg area in the North Sea, the company said on Tuesday.
One of the discoveries is preliminarily estimated to have volumes of around 5 million barrels of oil, depending on the production solution chosen, it said.
"The well is designed to be converted to a producer within 45 days after the discovery, giving an extremely quick turnover from prospective resources to producible reserves," StatoilHydro said in a statement.
The other, the Delta S2 discovery, is believed to contain about 16 million barrels of oil equivalents, StatoilHydro said, adding that the find could be linked to the nearby Delta discovery within a few years.
