Czech PM: EU patience exhausted in gas crises
PRAGUE, Jan 16 (Reuters) - The European Union's patience has been exhausted as Russia and Ukraine quarrel over natural gas supplies, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek said on Friday. He said after meeting Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico that the EU preferred planned Saturday talks between Russia and Ukraine to be bilateral with the EU as an observer, without the participation of other states because that could split the union.
"We prefer a common approach, and have of course promises from our colleagues that they respect that," Topolanek said. (Reporting by Jan Korselt, writing by Jan Lopatka)
