Japan gasoline pump prices rise to record high

TOKYO, May 7 (Reuters) - Japan's retail regular gasoline prices have risen to a record high, a research body said on Wednesday.

The average pump price of regular gasoline in Japan was 159.2 yen per litre ($5.70 a U.S. gallon) on Monday, compared with the previous record of 155.5 yen reached in mid-December, data from the Oil Information Center showed.
