Bruce Power moves ahead with Alberta nuclear plan
CALGARY, Alberta, March 13 (Reuters) - Bruce Power is moving ahead with plans for Alberta's first nuclear power plant by filing an application with regulators to build up to four reactors in the northern part of the province, the company said on Thursday.
Bruce Power, which has closed its acquisition of previous nuclear proponent Energy Alberta, said a Peace River-area plant could eventually generate 4,000 megawatts.
The first unit would could start up as early as 2017, said the company, which runs a massive nuclear complex in Ontario. (Reporting by Jeffrey Jones; Editing by Peter Galloway)
