NEW YORK, July 25 (Reuters) - Arch Coal Inc (ACI.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Friday its second-quarter profit about tripled, as strong global demand pushed coal prices higher.
Net income in the quarter was $113 million, or 78 cents a share, compared with a year-ago profit of $37.6 million, or 26 cents a share. (Reporting by Euan Rocha, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
