Bechtel 2007 revenue $27 bln, no slowing in orders
NEW YORK, March 19 (Reuters) - Global engineering construction company Bechtel Corp said on Wednesday its 2007 revenue surged 32 percent to a record $27 billion and it booked $34.1 billion in new work.
That 38 percent increase in new contracts brought its total work under contract to about $75 billion, Chief Financial Officer Peter Dawson told Reuters.
Dawson said the privately held company had not seen a slowing of orders because of the weakening U.S. economy, and added that he was "cautiously confident" about the overall economic outlook for 2008 and beyond. (Reporting by Matt Daily, editing by Phil Berlowitz)
