Making a claim on your health insurance plan

We certainly hope that you and your remain healthy and don’t ever reach the stage where you might have to file for a claim under the health insurance plan you have. But, in case you need to, then there are norms that need to be followed while making a claim.

From what we know, health insurers are very pedantic about it, so it is essential that you follow these norms while making the claim. Avoid errors and delays by keeping the following in mind:

1. Have the right documentation in place

The insurer specifies the documents to be submitted while making a claim. Usually this list will include providing the original documents like final bill with detailed break up of various billing heads, the complete discharge card mentioning duration of ailment, original investigation reports with corresponding prescription and pharmacy bills, along with the signed claim forms.

All this needs to be accompanied by the details of your insurance plan. So, keep all the detailed paperwork in order because it will be needed.
