-- Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed on Wednesday to revive the joint Loya Jirga or grand assembly of elders for evolving a common strategy on furthering Kabul’s “reintegration and reconciliation plan”.

-- Six aid workers, two of them women, of a U.S.-based charity organisation were killed and eight wounded in an attack in a remote village of the northwestern Mansehra town on Wednesday.

-- Fourteen people were killed in U.S. drone strikes at Ziarat village of North Waziristan tribal region on Wednesday.

-- An anti-terrorism court here again failed Wednesday to frame charges against five Americans accused of plotting attacks with al Qaeda-linked groups, lawyers said.
