TietoEnator owners with blocking stake oppose bid

HELSINKI, May 16 (Reuters) - Four Finnish institutional owners and a number of private shareholders, holding together , more than 10 percent stake in TietoEnator (TIE1V.HE: Quote, Profile, Research)(TIEN.ST: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Friday they would not accept the 1.08 billion euro ($1.67 billion) offer for the firm from Swedish Nordic Capital.

Finnish mutual insurer Varma said four instutional owners, holding 8.7 percent of the firm are opposing the bid.

Pekka Viljakainen said in a statement he and a number of private shareholders, holding in total 1.7 percent of the firm would also oppose the offer.

Nordic Capital -- who has extended to May 23 its offer at 15 euros a share -- has said its offer is conditional on 90 percent of shareholders acceopting the offer. (Reporting by Tarmo Virki; Editing by Quentin Bryar)
