PARIS, July 8 (Reuters) - French car maker Citroen, part of the Peugeot Citroen (PEUP.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) group, is planning to sell 110,000 units a year of its newly-unveiled multi-purpose version of the C3 Picasso car, it said on Tuesday. The company will give more details at the French car show in the autumn, Citroen Managing Director Gilles Michel told a news conference on Peugeot Citroen's first-half unit sales. The C3 Picasso aims to rival the Opel (GM.N: Quote, Profile, Research) Meriva and will be built in Trnava, Slovakia.

Peugeot Citroen, Europe's number two car maker, on Tuesday warned of worsening trading in western Europe and forecast a 4 percent drop in vehicle sales in 2008. For related results story click on [ID:nL08329695]. (Reporting by Marcel Michelson and Matthias Blamont; Editing by Paul Bolding)
