Italy's Stefanel names new managing director
MILAN, May 25 (Reuters) - Italian clothing retailer Stefanel SpA (STEP.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) named Luciano Santel as its managing director on Monday.
Santel, formerly corporate managing director at Italian shoe maker Geox SpA (GEO.MI: Quote, Profile, Research), will take over as managing director and general manager of Stefanel by September, Stefanel said in a statement. The company also operates in airport retailing.
Chairman Giuseppe Stefanel had previously held the role to be filled by Santel, but will now just hold the chairmanship.
Geox had said late on Friday that Santel, 52, was leaving the company.
Stefanel shares closed up 4.62 percent at 0.385 euro. (Editing by Will Waterman)
