Chrysler says seeking partners, no comment on GM
DETROIT, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Chrysler LLC said on Saturday that it is looking at a number of global partnerships around the world but declined to comment specifically on reports of a possible merger with General Motors Motors Corp (GM.N: Quote, Profile, Research).
"Chrysler LLC as a matter of policy does not confirm or disclose the nature of its private business meetings," Chrysler spokeswoman Lori McTavish said in a statement. "The company is looking at a number of potential global partnerships as it explores growth opportunities around the world."
"Beyond those partnerships already announced however, Chrysler has not formed any new agreements."
Detroit-based GM has had talks with the smaller Chrysler about a merger that would combine the No. 1 and No. 3 American automakers at a time when both are struggling to cut costs and shore up cash, source briefed on the matter have said. (Reporting by Poornima Gupta)
