Mexico's Soriana 1st-qtr profit down 8.5 pct

MEXICO CITY, April 25 (Reuters) - Soriana, Mexico's second-largest retailer, said on Friday first-quarter consolidated net profit fell 8.5 percent.

Soriana (SORIANAB.MX: Quote, Profile, Research), headquartered in the northern city of Monterrey, earned 676 million pesos ($64 million) in the January-March period, compared with 739 million pesos in the year-ago quarter.
