UPDATE 1-U.S. ITC issues limited exclusion order for Sharp
* ITC says Sharp infringed a Samsung patent
* ITC issues exclusion order for some Sharp products
WASHINGTON, June 24 (Reuters) - A U.S. trade panel which hears patent fights has ruled that Japanese electronics maker Sharp Corp (6753.T: Quote, Profile, Research) infringed a Samsung Electronics (005930.KS: Quote, Profile, Research) patent for liquid crystal displays used to make television screens, and issued a limited exclusion order on Wednesday.
The U.S. International Trade Commission ruled that Sharp infringed one patent held by South Korea's Samsung, and issued a limited exclusion order for televisions and other devices that use the infringed technology.
An administrative law judge working for the ITC had ruled in January that Sharp had infringed two patents, but the commission as a whole tossed out one of the two. The investigation began in January 2008.
In a separate ITC action this month, an administrative law judge ruled for Sharp, which had accused Samsung of infringing four of its patents for liquid crystal displays. The entire commission will also rule on that decision.

The case is: Investigation No. 337-TA-631. International Trade Commission. (Reporting by Diane Bartz, editing by Leslie Gevirtz)
