WARSAW, May 11 (Reuters) - Polish builder PBG PBGG.WA will consider raising its 2009 forecast after reporting a higher than expected 53-percent jump in its first-quarter net profit on the back of lower costs and more lucrative contracts.
Poland's largest-listed construction company earned 23 million zlotys ($7.2 million), ahead of the 19 million forecast given in a Reuters poll of analysts. Revenue rose to 349 million zlotys, slightly better than the 341 million predicted by analysts.
PBG, which relies on infrastructure projects and large stadiums ahead of the Euro 2012 soccer championship, has an order book of 6.5 billion zlotys and has already met its order target for this year.
