UPDATE 1-Valero restarts L.A. refinery gasoline unit
(Adds details)
HOUSTON, April 7 (Reuters) - Valero Energy Corp (VLO.N: Quote, Profile, Research) restarted a 54,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit at its 135,000 bpd Los Angeles-area refinery in Wilmington, California, over the weekend, a company spokesman said on Monday.
The FCC was shut on March 27 for 10 days of repairs.
Valero's Bill Day said the restart was complete, but declined to discuss the FCC's output on Monday, citing company policy.
Valero has said it has reduced FCC output across its 16 refineries to 73 percent. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
