Seadrill still interested in consolidation - CEO
NEW ORLEANS, April 8 (Reuters) - The chief executive officer of Seadrill (SDRL.OL: Quote, Profile, Research) on Tuesday said the Norwegian oil and gas drilling contractor remains open to potential deals with other companies.
"I think you should continue to assume that we will be active," Seadrill CEO Kjell Jacobsen said at the Howard Weil Energy Conference.
Seadrill will be looking for opportunities that have a focus on equity return and continue to seek leveraged financing for existing and new assets, Jacobsen said.
Seadrill, which has ambitions to become the world's largest offshore drilling company, has invested heavily in past years to build up its fleet of rigs, especially those in the premium deep-water segment. (Reporting by Anna Driver, editing by Mark Porter)
