Independence Gulf of Mexico repairs seen 1-4 weeks
NEW YORK, April 9 (Reuters) - Repairs on a leak on the Independence Trail natural gas pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico that suspended operations of the huge Independence Hub gas platform were expected to take one to four weeks, Enterprise Products Partners LP (EPD.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said Wednesday.
In a release, the platform's majority owner Enterprise said there was no fire or injuries associated with the leak, which was first suspected on Tuesday, prompting the shutdown of operations as a safety precaution.
The deepwater platform has a full production capacity of 1 billion cubic feet per day. Earlier this year, it had been producing an average of about 900 million cubic feet per day from all of its 15 initial production wells. (Reporting by Eileen Moustakis; Editing by Marguerita Choy)
