CAPE TOWN, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Nigerian energy firm Oando Plc (UNIP.LG: Quote, Profile, Research) (OAOJ.J: Quote, Profile, Research) plans to produce up to 15,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil in the second quarter of next year, the chief executive officer said on Wednesday.

Chief Executive Adewale Tinubu told an African oil conference in Cape Town he expects production to hit the 15,000 barrels per day mark by the second quarter of next year as a result of two new assets which were being put in production.

Oando also plans to ramp up further to produce 100,000 bpd by 2013, he said. (Reporting by Agnieszka Flak and Wendell Roelf)
