Millennium bcp says rights issue fully subscribed

LISBON, April 28 (Reuters) - Millennium bcp (BCP.LS: Quote, Profile, Research), Portugal's largest listed bank, said on Monday it had successfully carried out a 1.3 billion euro ($2 billion) rights issue to shore up its finances.

"The rights offering coordinator hereby announces that the share capital increase referred to in Banco Comercial Portugues (or Millennium bcp) ... has been fully subscribed," the bank said in a statement.

The operation resulted in the issuance of 1,083,270,433 new ordinary shares with a par value of one euro each.

The share closed on Monday up 0.53 pct at 1.88 euros. (Reporting by Henrique Almeida; Editing by David Cowell)
