Greek Post Bank swings to Q1 net profit
ATHENS, May 25 (Reuters) - Greece's Post Bank (TT) (GPSr.AT: Quote, Profile, Research) reported a net profit of 44.2 million euros ($62 million) in the first quarter of the year, helped by a 34.13 million euro trading profit.
The state-controlled lender reported losses of 37.7 million euros in the same period last year.
"TT's profit is significant, as a result of its strategic restructuring, both of the bank and its investment portfolio," the lender said in a statement.
TT said net interest income in the first three months of the year fell 9.3 percent to 74.3 million euros. The bank's loan book grew 15 percent to 7.29 billion euros, while deposits were up 6.3 percent at about 12 billion euros. (Reporting by Lefteris Papadimas, editing by Will Waterman)
